Wolfgang, Adelheid's father and the emperor of the empire, receives tribute from Prince Shareef of the Land of Sand, bringing their two nations closer together. Edmon, a minister of the kingdom, senses impending crisis in this new state of affairs, so he tries to gather information at Nekoya... Shareef arrives at Nekoya as Edmon is enjoying his meal. Edmon observes the young prince and notices that he seems restless. Then Adelheid appears, and the situation takes a sudden turn...
